How to Keep Your Diet on Track While on Vacation

When on vacation, you're usually either focused on sightseeing and trying new things or unwinding and giving yourself a break. Either way, it's difficult to stay on track with your usual habits when away, and diet is no exception.

When on break, it can be easy to let yourself do whatever you feel like and abandon your usual routine. And this is totally fine every once in a while. However, if you're committed to sticking to a specific meal plan, being on vacation can make things more difficult.

Luckily, Myprotein ambassador Cohnan Kotarski is back with more tips—this time, he's advising us on how to stay on track with your diet while away.

Let's see what he has to say.

1. Delay Your Breakfast

Cohnan's first tip for sticking to your diet on vacation is to delay your breakfast for as long as possible. The trainer explains that this is because delaying your breakfast will shorten your eating window, allowing you to eat more calories and more of the foods you want that day. If you get hungry, Cohnan recommends having coffee or sparkling water to suppress your appetite.

2. Focus on Protein & Veggies

Once you do eat breakfast, Cohnan suggests trying to keep it light with protein and vegetables. This is because these foods will fill you up with minimal calories. And if you do the same for lunch, when it's time for dinner you'll have lots of calories to spare to eat your favorite foods and still maintain your deficit.

This is especially helpful when on vacation because going out for dinner is a common outing while away with family or friends. By limiting your calorie intake during the day, you'll give yourself the freedom to eat the foods you like at dinner, while still sticking to your nutrition plan.

Take Home Message

There you have it, staying on track with your nutrition while away can be challenging, but with these tips, you'll come back feeling refreshed, properly fueled, and proud of yourself for sticking to your routine. Keep smashing it.
