We all know Eddie Hall, the first person to deadlift 1,100lbs, is a strong guy. But he never fails to amaze with the weight he’s able to shift. For his latest feat of strength, he's taken on a 1,600lb leg press.
And there it is, three-quarters of a ton. And this wasn’t even his one rep max. He pulled off a whopping eight reps. It doesn’t even look like he broke a sweat. All right, maybe that’s a stretch since we couldn’t see his face, but he made it sound easy.
Let's put this weight into some context: 1,600lbs is roughly five pandas or a medium-sized caravan. It’s almost the weight of a giraffe. Wow.
All I've got left to say on the matter is if you happen to go to the same gym as Eddie Hall, do not turn up at the same time as him. You'll be left with slim pickings when it comes to plates. Let’s hope that Eddie put all the plates away after using the machine, otherwise the next person has got quite a task on their hands.
Take home message
We expect immense strength from Eddie, but our jaws still drop when he turns up for a standard gym session and casually leg presses 1,600lbs. He's not even got any particularly intense training going on right now.
