Taste awful

The taste is very bad, they say you need 1/4 of a cup of water for 2 scoop, do u know how little this is... After a try, you need way more. The only good point is that its super quit to mix and bake. I dont recommand this product at all!

Before I even bought this pancake mix, I looked at all the reviews and was weary because of the surprising amount of negative reviews. However, with macros like this, I had to take a risk and give this pancake mix a try. I am glad to say that I did and now this mix has become one of my new favorites! Contrary to what others say, I do not think this mix tastes bad; however, it is Unsweetened so it can benefit from a little sweetness in the form of honey, syrup, jam, yogurt, etc. (Or, you can even add some MyProtein FlavDrops to the batter 😋). Alternatively, you can opt for a more savory route with something like nut butter, regular butter, cheese, or turn this mix into a wrap by making the batter thinner. Remember, this mix is not sweetened so it is very versatile with what it can make. When I make this pancake mix, I never go by the instructions because to me, 1/4 cup of liquid makes the batter too thick and it looks unspreadable so I always add more. What I do is I mix a serving (52g) of this pancake mix, 1 scoop of impact whey protein (25g), and 9 Tbsp (138g) of liquid egg whites and mix those together. I also add just a little bit more baking powder to get more lift. You can use whole eggs but I'd rather use egg whites in the pancakes and have whole eggs to eat with the pancakes on the side because the egg whites and eggs produce pancakes with the same texture without any difference (I've tried both ways). The instructions recommend using water and no eggs, and, while that works, I feel that eggs/egg whites yield a better texture product. I have not tried this with flax "eggs" nor chia "eggs" but I imagine they would yield a better end product than just water alone. Finally, I'd like to go over the end product. You may be wondering how many pancakes does this make. Well, I've made this pancake mix many different times and honestly, the number of pancakes varies depending on how thick you make the batter, and how much batter you pour on the pan. From my experience, however, I always get between 2 to 5 good sized pancakes. And to me, that's just fine! For only 190 calories per serving, doubling the pancake mix and getting perhaps 4 to 10 pancakes sounds like heaven. I mean, who doesn't love pancakes? 🤔 Anyway, that's my review! I recommend these and if you're on the edge, I'd say give it a try and that this mix is worth it. I'm going to be buying another pack today!

Pretty much anything! Also, cinnamon and Nutmeg or any warm spices go a long way with this product.

Definitely a Breakfast Add

The Protein Pancake Mix is definitely a great option that I've found myself adding more and more to my weekly roster of breakfasts. The taste (though it doesn't completely emulate the fluffy and soft texture of flour pancakes) is pretty solid, and beats other protein pancake mixes I've tried previously. I did find that it is a little difficult to mix together with the instructions on the packaging, and I've added a little more water to be able to manipulate it better.

While the product it’s self doesn’t taste the best it’s a great place to start. The powder is very versatile and allows you to be very create with your flavor and with 20 grams of protein is sure to satisfy any costumer. Personally not the the best tasting on its own though. Although when I talked to costumer service about my problems with the product they were very kind and helpful in assisting me.

Could be better

Bought this on sale, for the price it's not horrible but you need to know what you're getting into. not the greatest in terms of taste. Since it's unflavored, there isn't anything to take away from the natural flavor of oat flour and protein powder. With sugar free syrup, the flavor is masked effectively. The pancake itself does absorb moisture though so it's best to dunk pieces in syrup rather than pour straight on. Package states to use 1/4 cup of water, mix becomes way too thick with that much water. I would advise upping the water to 1/2 cup then add a little extra for the consistency you're looking for. Scoop included is incorrect for the measurement on the nutrition label. Contents weighed out to 76 grams when a serving is registered at 56.7. got to be careful on the calorie counts with this. The pancake cooks up very similarly to a biscuit rather than a pancake. Also if you have ever made a baked good using protein powder before then you will know that they usually cook up to a very dense and spongy product. Same thing here. If you got things to flavor the mix (stevia, sweetener, cocoa, PB2) then they are servable. I highly suspect if mixed with a regular pancake mix it can be used as a protein booster. I will experiment with the ratios and see how they come out. Overall, not bad but not good either. Up the water, add some flavor, and know the end product will be spongy.

If you use milk/almond milk instead of water then these pancakes are pretty good. You could also use them as a bread/wrap replacement.

Best Pancake for the macros

So I've had my fair share of protein pancakes, homemade and box type. Kodiak Cakes flapjack and waffle mix is hands down the best for flavor, but these are hands down the best for ease of use and straight-up simple clean and filling macros. I'm 6'3 215 and am in contest prep, I have an extremely large appetite and as such these are going to be a staple of my morning. 500 calories for two MASSIVE pancakes and some turkey bacon and under 35g carbs? Sign me up. To those mentioning lack of taste, go for Kodiak Cakes. If you've made your own protein DISCS before to no solid success, these do a bang up job. Very fluffy for my liking, browned up really well, and took on the taste of my walden farms syrup easily. Will I be eating these in my offseason? No, I'll stick to Kodiak Cakes or my local pancake house down the street. These are absolutely clutch if you're on a calorie budget and are a bit difficult to satiate. 9/10, because nothing is every perfect and there's always room for improvement (see, lack of taste).
Goes Well With:
Turkey bacon, Sugar free syrup, half a scoop to a scoop of your preferred protein powder (cinnamon for the win, salted caramel is, interesting).
