Different but good
Contrary to some others, I actually prefer these layered bars as opposed to the older ones. They're more chewy and have less of the typical protein taste. Calorie content of these are slightly higher than other brands but isn't anything insane.

If you like Nutty Buddy bars...
Then I think the PB flavor would be a good protein bar for you. They do not disappoint and they also have a lot of fiber which we could all use more of.

Not Great
I loved the old layered bars, especially the peanut butter one. This one is nowhere near as enjoyable, really tastes like a protein bar. The older version was a nice treat.

Hard to Bite and Chew
The taste of these bars is pretty good. The layers do not work well, though. The "caramel" layer is really tough. Think hardened taffy. It makes it impossible to bite through the bar in one go. I have to turn it in my mouth, get the canines involved, then tear. At this point the "crispies" layer has come apart and there is food all over me. I'm not sure what is supposed to be considered "protein dough" on the bar. The caramel is the main culprit and needs to be addressed. I have several boxes, so I have resorted to microwaving for 15-20s to soften everything up and then eat with a fork. Really, really, really miss the Protein Brownies. They were the stuff.

Snickers Bars?
Tastes like a Snickers bar that has a drier texture. Tastes so good in fact I'm wondering if the nutritional information is a lie. Makes no sense. Also the cookies n cream one tastes like funfetti birthday cake. Something's up here. Lifetime of eating protein bars have taught me flavor descriptions had little to do with taste, and that protein bars weren't something to get excited for. So, something ain't right with this one. It's not like all those other brands.
