L-Citrulline is an amino acid which is readily converted into L-arginine in the kidneys and has been found to play an important role in nitric oxide (NO) metabolism. Citrulline malate is found in a 2:1 ratio of citrulline to the organic salt, malate. Malate is added to L-citrulline to give stability in the body as well as having some fatigue-fighting properties of its own.
By increasing the production of NO, Citrulline Malate can act as a regulator to promote vascular dilation which in turn, helps support normal oxygen and blood circulation throughout the body. This enhanced blood flow can help to aid recovery, reduce fatigue and improve overall performance*.
To enhance physical performance, we recommend taking 2-4g of citrulline malate an hour before exercise. Citrulline Malate is particularly beneficial for high-intensity sports such as sprinting or weight lifting.

Mixes well, works well to give a pump, increases the sets and reps you can do, helps recovery, etc., but it tastes absolutely awful. This has to be the worst tasting workout supplement in existence. I mix 9g-10g (read up on proper L-Citrulline Malate dosing-- MyProtein's suggested dose is way too low) of it with 2 scoops of Chocolate Smooth Whey Isolate (Iso:Pro) 45 min. before a workout and it's not enough to mask the taste, though it does make it tolerable to swallow, for the most part. Despite the fact that I use Whey Isolate to dilute the taste of the L-Citrulline, after 3-4 weeks of doing this, my mind is starting to reject it-- I can feel myself wanting to puke when I drink it and obviously it's getting harder and harder to drink it. I didn't have these issues at first, though. For now, I would argue the effects of L-Citrulline Malate are worth it and somewhat reluctantly reordered some. Goes Well With:Anything supplement that doesn't taste overly strong/bad, or anything that can be used to mask the taste of this supplement (protein).
The product does as advertised. I get crazy pumps and vascularity at the gym. 10/10 mixes well with pre-workout as well as just drinking it with water. Goes Well With:BCCAs
The pump and the gains that come fromthe vasodilation of citrus line in this format is by far one of the best. The quality and proven performance benefits show as soon as you take the 7-8 gram scientifically recommended doseGoes Well With:BICEPS PUMPS CHEST PUMPS BCAAs And Sally watching 😂
Awesome pump with this product, worth the priceGoes Well With:BCAA
I purchased the unflavored to limit the other ingredients. It mixes well but tastes really sour and gives me heartburn. The closer I take to working out the greater the heartburn. I found that taking more than an hour before working out helps prevent heartburn.Goes Well With:most sport drinks and BCCA'a
Great product! great pump when working out. endurance and strength increases. but is a bit pricey💪Goes Well With:beta alanine creatine
I take 6g about 30 minutes pre workout for the benefits cited in the product overview. It's always hard to quantify how much these products help in the short term, but I've noticed that by stacking this with the other products below, I'm able to have longer training sessions with improved recovery. What I did notice about this product compared to others on different sites was the 2:1 ratio of citrulline to malate, which is superior to something closer to 1:1. As a side note, the malate ends up being the flavoring for my pre-workout; it basically tastes like a super sour apple candy. Goes Well With:beta alanine, creatine, caffeine
