Myprotein Set to Beat Target & Raise Over £30,000 For Street Soccer Academy

The Soccer 24 Challenge

On the 12-13th June at the Life Leisure Center in Stockport, the Myprotein and The Hut Group staff and management Team took part in Soccer 24 Hour – a football marathon to raise vital funds for Street Soccer Academy. The Soccer 24 Challenge is a grueling event, both physically and mentally and involves taking on fresh opponents in 24 consecutive one-hour football matches that culminate in a full day of football in ‘The ultimate test of soccer endurance.’

Street Soccer Academy uses football as the initial touch point to help rehabilitate young, vulnerable and homeless individuals back into the workplace and society. The monies raised each year help to provide these people with the basic necessities to get their lives back on track, including a clean football kit, training, food and importantly a family environment.

The Target

The event was a resounding success both on and off the pitch, and a herculean effort from Myprotein FC saw them win 20 and draw 1 of their 24 games. A massive thanks to all our sponsors as we look set to raise over £30,000 for the charity, which would signal its biggest ever fundraiser and a significant increase on last year’s total.

Team Performance

Myprotein CEO Andy Duckworth commented ‘Myprotein are proud to have contributed again to such an important event and a charity close to our heart. The team was commended for the conduct and approach of the team in helping to secure the funds for such a meaningful cause. I’d like to thank all Myprotein suppliers and The Hut Group contacts who donated so generously”.
