5 Nut Butter Recipes You Should Try

Go completely nuts trying out these 5 Nut Butter Recipes. Nut butters can be an excellent healthy snack choice for anyone (as long as you’re not allergic to nuts). Nut butter is such a versatile ingredient, meaning you can use it to make a variety of different snacks. Here’s 5 Nut Butter snacks for you to try.


 1. Nutty Hot Chocolate

This is a great way to use up any nut butter left over in the tub. When you’re scraping to get any nut butter mix your hot chocolate powder or hot milk or water in the nut butter tub. All the nut butter left in the tub will melt and infuse into your hot chocolate. This will give your hot chocolate a nutty taste. If you can’t wait until the tub is almost empty then just mix a small spoonful of nut butter into your hot chocolate and enjoy!

 2. Banana Sandwiches 

These naturally sweet treats are great for fighting against those cravings we all have to sugary snacks. Cut your banana into thin slices. Take two slices of bread and spread your nut butter on each slice for an extra nutty taste. Then place your sliced banana on top of the bread. You want to have cut enough banana to cover one whole slice of bread. Then put the two pieces of bread together and there you have it, a banana and nut butter sandwich.

In addition to the sandwich you could add nut but directly to your banana slices and then freeze them. This would make a great snack before the gym or during the day when at work or college.

 3. Protein Packed Popcorn

Plain popcorn is a great low calorie snack to have during the day or in front of a film. But we all know that sweet popcorn or salted popcorn tastes better. But don’t be tempted! Instead give your bowl of plain popcorn a taste and protein kick! Heat up 2 tablespoons of nut butter and 1 tablespoon of sugar free cinnamon syrup. Once it forms a loose consistency, toss into the popcorn, mix and enjoy!

 4. Apple With A Twist 

There are many benefits to eating an apple a day, as they’re rich in antioxidants and very high in fiber. Take your apple snacking to another level with this simple twist. Slice your apple up and then and then layer the slices with a teaspoon of nut butter. You can sprinkle coconut flakes and cranberries on top for added flavor.

 5. Chicken On Another Level

If you’re a fan of chicken wings or stops as a high protein snack then why not take them to another level with some nut butter sauce. Mix a tablespoon of nut butter, juice from a lime and 2 teaspoons of low sodium soy sauce to create an amazing Asian dipping sauce. Or you could just drizzle it all over your chicken and let it marinate for the day for added flavor.
