How does creatine work?
Once you consume creatine, it binds to a phosphate molecule forming phosphocreatine which is then stored in muscle cells. Every time you exercise, the body needs to convert ADP (adenosine diphosphate) into ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the body's energy source for muscle contractions.
For this to occur, phosphocreatine is separated from its phosphate molecule and binds to an ADP molecule to form ATP. The more phosphocreatine is stored in your muscle cells, the quicker the body will be able to synthesize ATP.
Supplementation with creatine increases muscle phosphocreatine content therefore allowing you to exercise for longer and at a higher intensity (*2), (*3), (*4).
Kre-alkalyn is a special form of creatine with a higher pH value than other forms of creatine. This causes the creatine molecule to remain stable in a liquid solution, therefore increasing its bioavailability and absorption rate.
